2002s f150 Harley Davidson is Supercharged – Here’s All You Need to Know
Everyone knows of Harley Davidson. The company is one of the biggest names in the world, and many people dream about owning one of their incredible bikes. But did you know that you can also find a Harley Davidson truck? Yes, Harley Davidson collaborated with Ford to create an amazing series of F-150 trucks, in particular, the 2002 f150 Harley Davidson supercharged trucks and we are here to take a closer look at them.
2002 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson Supercharger Series
Harley Davidson is probably the most popular brand when it comes to bikes, and it has a long history of incredible models you could buy. At the same time, the popularity of Ford F-150 trucks was at its highest, and it was one of the best trucks you could find on the market. So, why not combine the two? In 2000, two companies decided to work together and release a special edition of the F-150 truck.
The idea behind it was simple — offering fans of both brands one vehicle they will adore. And that’s how the Harley-Davidson Edition was born. The first series of this model came out in 2000, and it offered a couple of performance upgrades. It also featured black leather seats, black paint, pinstripes that followed Harley Davidson colors, logos, and other visual upgrades.
For the 2000 model year, there have been a bit over 8,000 trucks made. And none of them offered a supercharger but one. The supercharged model was sold to Jay Leno, and he raised money for charity by buying the truck for $200,000. The next model year was nearly identical, and the first change was noticed in 2002.
The Ford F-150 used a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter V8 version, and it was supercharged. This was the same engine used on SVT Lightning. This supercharged version of the F-150 had 340 horsepower, which is less than what the SVT Lightning model had, thanks to differences in tuning. The 2002 series also introduced new colors and different configurations like the F-150 SuperCrew.

The history of the Ford F-100 series started in 1948 when the first model was released. It is a full-size pickup truck, and it has been one of the most popular models since. There are many different versions of this truck in the F-series, and you can find:
- F-1 to F-8 in the first generation
- F-100
- F-150
- F-250
- F-350
- F-500
- F-600
- F-700
- F-750
- F-800
- F-900
- F-Super Duty
- SVT Lightning
And these are just models from the main series. As you can see, we didn’t count special edition models like the Harley Davidson one, and there are many others with slight changes and improvements. Each model had different engine options, features, and with every new generation, the company made significant changes to the model. Of course, a lot of things have changed since the late 1940s, when the F-series was introduced.
Today, the Ford F-series is in its fourteenth generation. But as we mentioned earlier, the F-150 model wasn’t available from the start. The first version was introduced in 1975, which was during the sixth generation of the F-series. It quickly became the most popular model from this series, and it had several special edition models. The Harley-Davidson version is just one of many options you might find if you like what this truck has to offer.
Harley Davidson Edition
The addition of Harley Davidson Ford is quite recent compared to the history of the F-series. In fact, the first model was introduced in 2000. Almost every single year, the company released an updated version of the truck. What is interesting here is that the Harley Davidson Edition arrived covering three generations:
- Tenth gen between 1997 and 2004
- Eleventh gen between 2004 and 2008
- Twelfth gen between 2009 and 2014
As we mentioned, the production of Harley Davidson trucks started in 2000, and it ended in 2012. That means that it had to adjust the changes made with each generation. Furthermore, the trucks changed with each year, but there have been a few years where the F-150 model was not available.
2000 | The first series of Harley Davidson F-150 |
---|---|
2001 | Almost identical to the previous year |
2002 | Superchargers added to 5.4 V8, new colors |

2006 | Naturally aspirated 5.4 V8, new-gen body |
2007 and 2008 | Two engine options, and F-250 and F-350 |

2010 | New-gen, available in 2WD and 4WD |

After the last model in 2012, the model was retired, and there are no plans to release a newer version of this truck.
2002 Ford F-150 harley davidson Supercharge Specs
If we take a closer look at the 2002 f150 Harley Davidson supercharged truck, we can see that it is a part of the tenth-generation F-150. This means that the body and the majority of parts will be identical to the stock version of the truck. The most important difference compared to the previous two years is that this one comes with a supercharger installed from the start.
All versions of F-150 in this period had a 5.4-liter Triton V8, and it had 340 horsepower. The same engine was available in Ford Lightning, but it offered different performance thanks to engine tuning. The basis of this pickup was an F-150 SuperCrew 4×2 truck, and it was one inch lower compared to the original. All vehicles had twenty-inch wheels, the Harley Davidson logo, and two different colors.
You could choose between:
- Black
- Dark Shadow Gray
The Triton V8 engine is already supercharged and intercooled, which means that there is no reason for you to upgrade it any further.
If you are one of many drivers that enjoy the idea of supercharging their vehicles, this might be an excellent option. You won’t need to go through the entire process, and you can start enjoying your truck as soon as you get it.
What Does It Offer?
Harley Davidson Edition of Ford F-150 offers a perfect combination for those that enjoy the brand but don’t want to buy a bike for whatever reason. They might already have a few and need a pickup truck instead. Regardless of the reason, it is a nice vehicle to have if you can find it. After all, it is an improved version of the F-150 from the same year.
Now, we have already talked about how there are different editions for each year, and every model from the Harley Davidson series has its own counterpart as a stock version. If we just take a look at the stock version of the Triton engine, it offers significantly less power. The 5.4-liter version without a supercharger can give you 235 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. And even if you take a look at the improved version of the engine, it offers 260 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. And this is nowhere near what a supercharged F-150 can offer.
If you go for a newer version with a bigger engine, you will be able to get even more out of the truck. The 6.2-liter version offers 411 horsepower with 434 lb-ft of torque. But these trucks were available only for the 2011 and 2012 model years.
Can You Find It Today?
Yes. In fact, Harley Davidson and Ford grouped up again in 2019 to offer a new series of F-150. This car isn’t a part of the standard series we could’ve seen before, and it is a new project these two companies decided to work on. Yes, we are still talking about the same F-150 truck, but there are a few major differences.
Firstly, the original series of Harley Davidson F-150 trucks were made in Kansas City. The new model is a product of collaboration between Harley Davidson and Tuscany Motor Co. This new version has a 5.0-liter 32 valve V8 engine, and it is a beast.
There are a couple of new and important features on the new F-150:
- 5.0 L V8
- Aluminum intercooler
- New fuel injectors
- High-flow exhaust
- Over 700 horsepower
As with previous models, the color and design of the truck will have a Harley Davidson logo and a well-known binding on the body. It is also worth mentioning that the model is already supercharged, so you won’t need to worry about it.
The new series started in 2019, and it continued in the following year. It is possible that the duo will continue working together and that we can expect more models in the future. There is a model for 2021, and we are expecting a new series to be announced for the 2022 model year.
Is Harley Davidson F-150 Supercharged?
So, is the F-150 Harley Davidson supercharged? Well, it mostly depends on the year. For example, the original model from 2000 did not have a supercharger in it. Ford made only one model with a blower, and it was sold to Jay Leno. So, if you own a 2000 Harley Davidson F-150, it does not have a blower. But you can install it if you feel like it.
Ford started supercharging F-150 Harley Davidson trucks in 2002. The following year was almost identical, and 2004 and 2005 didn’t have an F-150. 2006 was another year without a blower. But, it returned a year later as an optional upgrade to the 2007 model year engine. After that, F-150 trucks didn’t have a supercharger in them (years 2010, 2011, and 2012).
2000 | 2001 | 2002 | 2003 | 2006 | 2007 | 2008 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
No | No | Yes | Yes | No | Yes | Yes | No | No | No |
Finally, the new series of trucks all have blowers installed, which allows them to have over 700 horsepower.
Can You Supercharge F-150 Today?
As we could have seen from the previous table, there are models of F-150 which are not supercharged. If you own one of these models, adding a blower shouldn’t be a problem at all. There are companies offering blowers for F-150 trucks, and all you need to do is find one that’s suitable for the type of engine that’s in your truck. You will have plenty of options when it comes to the type and size of the supercharger, and getting a kit will allow you to buy all the necessary parts at once.
This will save you a lot of time and money since you won’t need to look for replacement parts elsewhere. Needless to say, if you own one of the newer models by Tuscany, they already come with a blower, which means that there is no need for you to do anything. In theory, you could replace the blower with a bigger one, but we doubt that there will be any need for it since these trucks have over 700 horsepower.
As for the supercharged models before 2012, upgrading the blower is still possible, but trucks are already powerful enough. So, there is no need for you to upgrade the blower.
2002 F150 Harley Davidson Supercharger – Is It Worth It?
Supercharging cars is always fun. It is the simplest way to improve performance and make the engine run even better. And the boost in horsepower and torque increases with the power of the engine. The more powerful the engine you have, the bigger the increase will be. But even if you own one of the older Harley Davidson trucks without a blower, it is still a nice upgrade for an incredible truck.
These series were quite small, and each year had around 10,000 models. And this is what makes them special. So, installing a supercharger is always a good idea. Of course, if your truck is already with a blower, then all you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
